Home Buyer Assistance is Still Available in Arizona

It might be easter than you think to overcome one of the biggest roadblocks that home buyers commonly face. For example, did you know that Down Payment Assistance programs are still available?

With all the media coverage of home prices and interest rates, I’m surprised that there seems to be little if any information available about Home Buyer assistance. Many are state, county or lender specific, some are designed as grants with no repayment required or with limited specifications and prerequisite. Others are in the form of a second mortgage. Case in point: one bank is offering a grant of $6,000 toward down payment for a primary residence, where at least one buyer is a First Time Home Buyer, in the Phoenix / Mesa / Chandler AZ area. They will even reimburse the cost of appraisal.

After doing a bit of research, I was pleasantly surprised at the number and diversity of devices available to home buyers, and especially First Time Buyers. I’d be happy to walk you through the basics of some of these programs, and refer you to the experts for the financial details.
