Believe it or not, landscaping can make or break a home sale. Your homes curb appeal will determine the mood of a potential home buyer even before they’ve walked through the door. If you can’t afford to upgrade your landscaping, at the very least make sure it’s neat and well trimmed. There are some specific suggestions below this video.
- Plant a couple visible spots of bright annuals that suit the season. In cold weather, a strategically placed pot of evergreens and pine cones can add warmth and color.
- Be sure the lighting on the outside of your home is adequate and in working order. If pathways are dark, add just a few solar lights, they can be inexpensive and require little or no installation.
- Edge your driveway with a narrow row of pavers or edgers if it needs some definition. This may be a bit of work but the driveway is the very first impression your potential buyers will get.
- Give your front door a fresh coat of paint and if necessary, replace worn-looking handles and locks.
- Trim bushes away from the house. Not only will this give your home a more manicured look but it will give the home inspector or termite inspector one less thing to note on their report.
