Every time you move you find yourself weeding out the unnecessary. Cloths, furniture, bric-a-brac, it all needs to go. I’ve made a couple major moves of my own, one across the country, and I found the advice in the video below to be constructive, even if you’re not making a move.
Along with the suggestions in the video I have a couple tips of my own. Don’t forget that many charities will pick up donations right at your door. The convenience of pick-up service is priceless when moving has you strapped for time
Second, something my wife read in a book about organizing your home helped us a lot. Save your assessment of sentimental items for last. By the time you get to them you’ll be in weeding-out mode already, plus you’ll have a pretty good idea how much space you’ll have available to store or display them.
