Here’s Another Reason to Live in Sunny AZ.

Every so often I feel compelled to advocate for a local business via more than simply the Yelp route. This is one of those times.

A few years back our favorite Cajun eatery in Tempe, Arizona closed forever. We were devastated. This was right on the heals of a beloved, family owned Mexican restaurant’s demise. There are Mexican places all over the Phoenix Valley and many of them are awesome so it wasn’t difficult to locate a handful of replacements. Not so the little Cajun place, until now!

Creole Cajun Bistro is not yet on the beaten path, although the Chandler Heights area in which it is located is growing fast. We found this place, like so many others, on Facebook. And are we ever glad we did.

To begin with, Creole Cajun Bistro’s Fried Green Tomatoes are second to none! Seriously, they are remarkably crunchy on the outside and thick and juicy in the middle. Exactly the way a Fried Green Tomato should be.

I am convinced however, that the true measure of any Cajun restaurant is it’s Jambalaya. This little Bistro did not disappoint. The Jambalaya was AMAZING! Plump al dente (I’m sure there is a more appropriate Louisiana-regional term, but I’m Italian so there you have it) shrimp, appropriately spicy Andouille, and the indispensable chicken, all in an incredibly tasty base with a curiously delayed bite. Perfect!

After years of searching we’ve found a new favorite Cajun spot, another reason to Live in Sunny AZ. Cajun Creole Bistro is located directly behind CVS Pharmacy, 5070 S Gilbert Rd, Chandler AZ.
