Of course, in my humble opinion, there is no place like Arizona for the ultimate retirement oasis.
The greater Phoenix Valley has some incredible Active Adult Communities; Solera, a high-end Chandler gated AZ community, Sun Bird Golf Resort, a more affordable and conveniently located neighborhood, Sun Lakes just south of Chandler, the massive Sun City complex northwest of Phoenix, and my all-time favorite Trilogy at Power Ranch right here in Gilbert.
Some of the most stunning golf courses are in Active Adult neighborhoods. Most have pools and clubhouses, scheduled activities and neighborly atmosphere.

According to ERA Real Estate there are at least five retirement-worthy spots close, but not too close, to America’s major cities.
If your child has chosen the nations capital to living and make a living, consider retiring to Richmond Virginia, less than two hours drive time away from DC. It features many attractions, restaurants and outdoor recreation.
Looking to settle closer to Boston? Check out Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Its New England charm, health care offerings and numerous golf courses are among the reasons it’s considered a prime retirement spot.
If it’s Chicago you want to be near, try Door County, Wisconsin. The Cape Cod of the Midwest boasts fishing, boating and canoeing among other things. Direct flights from Milwaukee will have you in Chicago in under an hours.
Live less than a two-hour flight from Los Angeles by settling in St. George, Utah with its red bluffs, beautiful scenery and ideal walking terrain.
