This Thank You Thursday is maybe not as big-league as some (yes, I know, we’re rolling our eyes at the pun too) but it is undeniably no less meaningful.
A few days ago, two members of the Phoenix Police Department and the Arizona Diamondbacks cooperated in what probably seemed like a minor effort to them, but was may have been everything to sad and scared 10-year old girl.
After responding to a car burglary call, Phoenix Officers Cosner and Gallagher were dismayed to discover that a 5th grader’s backpack full of school books was among the missing items. One of the officers, noticing the girl’s Diamondbacks t-shirt, began a conversation with her about the baseball team to divert her attention away from the robbery.
After the officers spoke with the Diamondbacks, the team wasted no time replacing the girl’s backpack, which the 10-year-old accepted with an enormous, beautiful smile. –see photo and original article on AZFamily.com–
Thank You Thursday is once again thoroughly impressed by the kindness of Police Officers and today, just a little blown-away by what the Diamondbacks understood was important.
