We research almost everything from electronics to restaurants before making almost any decision, but I wonder if you’ve thought about doing your research on what is arguably one of the most important financial decisions you’ll ever make? Buying a home is major undertaking and yet we often rely on the advice of family, friends and neighbors. Admittedly I haven’t read most of the publications mentioned below but I have always been a fan of the ‘For Dummies’ books and “Home Buying Kit For Dummies” does not disappoint. The format is easy to understand, there’s accuracy, enlightenment and humor, and the information even covers minute detail that may be missing from more sober texts. Personally I’d recommend you start there. ~Bill
