We talk a lot on this site, about Veterans helping Veterans but today I’d like acknowledge Veterans helping children.

I read a heart warming post today on the GoodNewsNetwork about a group of Marine Veterans who, in an awesome act of community service, post themselves on the roughest streets in Chicago every day to ensure safe passage for kids walking to and from school.

Of particular note is a 20% drop in the crime rate for those neighborhoods!

So on this Thank You Thursday we send out a HUGE pat on the back to all the Veterans participating to keep Chicago’s children safer.
