It was an obscure article in a small, local newspaper with the astounding headline “Tucson on track to end homelessness among veterans“. Something with a headline like that should be huge, in fact national news don’t you think?
I found this post By Ethan McSweeney For the Arizona Daily Star on tucson.com. A little more than two years ago the city of Tucson, Arizona and mayor Jonathan Rothschild set out to house every homeless Veteran in the city, and they’re almost there! More than 1,200 previously homeless Military Veterans are now living in apartments, some are now helping with the program. In his determination to complete what he set out to accomplish, the mayor has requested additional case workers, and assistance in the form of data sharing from the VA to house the remaining 400 or so Veterans. If Jonathan Rothschld, accomplishes nothing else in his term as Mayor, his legacy will still score a solid A+. Read the complete post here, the success stories are uplifting, they’ll make your day!
