In the world of Real Estate, light sells!
Arizona homes tend to be dark, especially during the warmer seasons. I get it. Keeping the sun out keeps the heat out. Though we’ve had an unusually cool Spring so far this year, many of the homes I’ve shown to potential home buyers have been dim. Not because of design or decoration, but simply as a result of closed blinds and lowered window shades.
The atmosphere in a dark home is gloomy even if the home is dazzling. Rooms look smaller when they’re dark, architectural details are not highlighted, and frankly, a home buyer might wonder what you’re trying so hard to hide.
So here’s my free tip for a no-cost home staging hack, open the blinds, pull up the shades, switch on lights as you’re leaving the house before a showing, and for goodness sake never be afraid let your light shine!

Light it up! The right combo of natural light and lamps can make a home stand out.
Natural Light: Open up drapes to brighten a room. Don’t forget to clean your window, as this will allow more light to come in.
Highlight Features: Spotlight lamps will draw attention to fireplaces or paintings. A beautiful chandelier can showcase a large room.
Dimmers: These can help to create different moods in different rooms.
Wattage: Use high wattage bulbs in the kitchen and baths.
Follow these tips and your home will be seen in the best possible light.
