An improving economy is causing more homeowners to improve their homes.
Welcome to Today’s News Update everyone, I’m Jenny Dunn.
According to a recent survey by CouponCabin.com, about one third of U.S. homeowners say their planning home improvements that they put off during the recent recession. Thirty eight percent of homeowners in the survey said they will go ahead with home renovations because they feel more financially secure.
In all, sixty four percent of home owners surveyed said they at least somewhat likely to do some improvement work on their home in the next year.
The survey also revealed, the change of seasons is a motivating factor in home spruce-ups. Almost 9 in 10 homeowners surveyed said Spring is the ideal time to undertake home renovations and improvements.
Home improvement stores stand to benefit from all this enthusiasm as eighty two percent of home owners planning an improvement project in the next year say they will hit their local stores for the materials they need.
According to the CouponCabin survey, nearly half of the home projects will fall in the one to five thousand dollar range.
