Another affordable option, but a trend that I’ve noticed in Luxury Homes recently, is to add or switch out a backspash. The choices are endless and the latest trend is to use unique materials:
- Metal Grating over a newly painted wall can provide both a chic industrial look and additional hanging storage space.
- Leather Tiles will age gracefully with your decor. They do need a water-resistant finish to repel moisture and grease.
- You can get a fantastic retro look with brightly colored rectangular tiles in hues like sun-yellow or aqua marine, placed horizontally and peppered with the occasional white tile and white grout.
- Glass Tiles have been in vogue for awhile now. To give them an updated glow, finish with a metalic grout and install under-cabinet lighting to enhance them.
- More and more homeowners are adding comfort to their homes with the Farmhouse feel. A stone pebble backsplash suits the look perfectly. I’ve seen this in a luxury home I visited with clients and it achieves a very appealing, cozy effect.
Have you seen an amazing backsplash lately? I’d be curious to know what unique ideas are out there.
