VIDEO: Arizona Diamondbacks visit veterans at Phoenix VA hospital

It’s heartwarming to see Major League Baseball players, guys who have every right to claim the title of heroes and celebrities, humble in the presence of their own heroes. Three pitchers from the Arizona Diamond Backs visited with Veterans at the Phoenix VA Hospital on Thursday before the game.

D’Backs pitchers Brad Ziegler, Josh Collmenter and Andrew Chafin took time out of their busy schedule to show their respect, sign autographs and chat with men and women at the hospital.

Ziegler founded Pastime for Patriots several years ago, an organization that provides game tickets to Veterans and families of deployed military members. Among other things the organization supports a scholarship program for children of military members killed in service.
