PHOENIX — Military veterans looking for somewhere to live should take a good look at Arizona.
A NerdWallet study ranked cities based on economic opportunity for veterans and three Arizona cities — Goodyear, Sierra Vista and Maricopa — cracked the top 10.
Phoenix suburb Goodyear came in third, Sierra Vista, in southern Arizona, finished sixth and Maricopa, just south of the Valley, came in eighth.
All three cities have a relatively low unemployment rate for veterans, with Goodyear’s the lowest at 1.5 percent.
These locations also have a high percentage of veterans in the adult population. Sierra Vista, home to Army base Fort Huachuca, topped the entire list at 27.6 percent.
Beavercreek, Ohio and Madison, Alabama were the only two cities to outrank Goodyear, coming in first and second overall. – read original –
