you are here pointing-finger

because you’re shopping for a home? Thinking of selling your Arizona property but need to weigh your options first? Maybe you’re just curious about market conditions or homeowner tips. Whatever your reason, I hope you find what you’re looking for. If not, feel free to let me know and I’ll do my best to provide it for you.

what’s with the picture

Gravitar Head Shot           you might ask. I call it my Talking Head. I have a more formal head-shot (complete with suit and tie) but everyone’s always complaining that realtors never look like their photo… they use glamour shots and studio portraits that admittedly present them in the best light but are generally from sometime in the distant past. So who really looks their best all the time? Certainly not me. I use the Talking Head so that when I meet you, you’ll know, without question, who I am. (the talking-head shot was taken during a radio interview that I was invited to do with a host who specializes in veterans affairs, it’s not just some random picture of me with headphones on 🙂 )

back in 2002

I realized that what I was doing was not what I wanted to do forever. It was a career, it just wasn’t my career and I was working my butt off to achieve success for a faceless corporation. I finally said “enough!”, submerged myself in night classes, and never looked back. The people I now work for, my clients, have faces… and dreams, it’s much more gratifying. As it turns out, Real Estate isn’t so much a career as it is a lifestyle. When I’m not showing a home or determining a value, I’m listening to my client’s concerns, creating marketing plans in my head, scouring paperwork to be certain it’s accurate, coordinating fundraisers, meeting with veterans groups and driving, I do a lot of driving… what’s my point? Real Estate is not really a job at all. If you’re doing it right, you’re living it.

sometimes more is more

So maybe you’re done reading but I have more to say. An About Page wouldn’t be much without the actual About. There are some credentials below, the ones I think are important anyhow (written by someone else, cause isn’t it ridiculously uncomfortable talking about yourself?). What I don’t include is what I consider “alphabet soup”… a long-winded series of acronyms following my name, that might look good for me but they don’t mean a thing to you. I’ve also included my philosophy. I know, I know, who cares? Maybe you do and maybe you don’t but it’s here because I think you should know how I work, how you’ll be treated, and why. At any rate, I really do appreciate you taking the time to read this far!

a few incidental facts

  • I faithfully go the the gym every morning. What no one else knows is that I spend the whole time in the sauna.
  • My main source of entertainment and amusement is grandchildren… nothing is funnier than a kid who isn’t trying to be funny.
  • I will never become a vegetarian! Give me a good ribeye and I need nothing else to survive.
  • I still own an iPod… and I still use it.

the Philosophy

comes from a fantastic movie line. One of my favorite movie quotes was spoken by Carl the FBI agent in Catch Me If You Can. While impersonating a pilot, Frank requests of Carl “Stop chasing me!” Carl replies simply “I can’t stop, it’s my job.” I feel that way every day. Every transaction is a story and each home buyer has a unique tale, their own personal wish list. Every lender handles their bank-owned properties differently. Sellers in today’s market face concerns that never existed before. Frequently I’m asked why I am so determined to make every one of these stories work out. I find myself replying, “I can’t stop, it’s my job.”
My clients ARE my job, so doing what’s best for the client clearly needs to be my top priority. My only barometer for success is your satisfaction. Your calls and e-mails will always be responded to… promptly! Even after the transaction is complete, I’m here for you. “I can’t stop, it’s my job.”
Here’s what I hope you take away from this. I’ll always be up-front with you. At the end of the day you will be happy with the results. It’s what I learned in the Army and what I believe is important.

the Credentials – a reputation for realty excellence throughout the Greater Phoenix Valley

Bill is Owner and Realtor of the Your Valley Property Real Estate Team at Arizona Elite Properties in Gilbert, Arizona. It was in this capacity that he first realized that Real Estate services to our Military Members and Veterans had been neglected, largely out of unfamiliarity and misunderstanding of the process. Shortly after founding an organization of local business professionals to assist these groups, Bill was contacted by the nationwide non-profit VAREP and recruited as the first Phoenix Chapter President.

During the recent economic downturn Bill’s client base like most Realtors, was primarily composed of distressed homeowners dealing with the financial struggle and emotional upheaval of Short Sales and Foreclosures. Though these events are no longer commonplace they do occur and at this critical time your Realtor’s experience and professional connections may be your only defense. You will find no one more qualified or empathetic to walk you through each step of the process.

Bill Salvatore is a proud member of Heroes Home Advantage, a cash back program that benefits Real Estate buyers and sellers. The program honors Fire Fighters and First Responders, EMTs and Emergency Personnel, Police Officers, Nurses and other Medical Professionals, Veterans and Active Military Members, and Teachers. Through the Heroes Home Advantage program, Bill gives a portion of his commission back to the hero in the form of assistance with closing costs.
In founding his own organization, AZVHV, Arizona Veterans Helping Veterans, Bill has shared his dedication to Veterans and Military Members throughout the real estate industry. An increasing number of local professionals have joined Bill in offering discounts to these heroes, not only when buying or selling a home but in all aspects of homeownership. AZVHV has developed a wide range of services and is gaining momentum every year. Membership is free, the only stipulation is that each member offer a discount for Veterans and Military Members.
Bill is also President of the Phoenix Chapter of VAREP, Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals. VAREP is focused on education, making real estate transactions smoother and easier for Veterans and Military Personnel, and instructing other real estate related professionals in the best procedures for dealing with these transactions. VAREP is a nationwide non-profit association with an impressive presence in the Phoenix area.
