Before you list your home for sale, it’s helpful to know which upgrades will help you sell your home more quickly, and which ones won’t.
Welcome to Today’s News Update everyone, I’m Jenny Dunn.
You’ve probably heard that a home will sell more quickly if it’s comparable to other nearby homes. If you want a quick sale, avoid adding extras like a home office or a lavish master suite. Potential buyers could see such improvements as over the top for your home.
Don’t go overboard with upgrades. You probably don’t need the highest-end cabinets and appliances in your kitchen. You may end up loosing money on your luxurious upgrades.
A new tub or walk-in shower will appeal to most buyers. But a whirlpool spa could appear excessive. The same rule applies outdoors.
Keep your lawn or landscaping looking nice but do not spend lots of money on a new deck or patio.
Adding an extra bedroom in your attic will appeal to larger families, and for those who want space for out of town guests.
New siding can add visual appeal to the outside of your home.
