Great tips in this video to help you kid’s transition to a new home. One thing we always found helpful when trying to assimilate kids to their new environment was a “moving pack”. Fill a brand new backpack for their new school, with travel brochures from the area they’re moving to, featuring of course some of their favorite activities. Include restaurant or fast food gift cards, maybe a local or regional snack for instance cactus candy for the Southwest or cookies from a local bakery. Most importantly, take a few minutes to compile a small photo album, physical or digital, with pictures of their current home and friends, photos of their new home, schools and parks, and a few blank pages for the kids to include photos that they can take themselves.
