(KFYI News) – A Tempe mother and daughter are riding their motorcycles across America for veterans.
Laurie Enright recently retired from the Air National Guard with 29 years of service. She explained why veterans’ care is special to her and daughter Molly Michael, who recently graduated from ASU.
“It’s close to my heart as a combat veteran,” Enright says, “and to [Molly’s] heart as someone who grew up in a military family …”
Enright says many returning vets are suffering from physical and mental injuries, especially PTSD. She and Michael are trying to raise 292-thousand dollars for a veterans center in Colorado. Their 10-thousand-mile trip will take them through Alaska, national parks, and military memorials.
