And I always answer, absolutely!
Pre-qualification or Pre-approval is the clout behind your offer. Your Realtor will have much more power in negotiating for you when your contract is accompanied by proof of your capability to purchase.
In addition, pre-qualification saves time, yours and mine. With pre-approval your lender will delve into credit, employment and debt. If there are any red flags the loan officer will be able give you advice about how to work around issues before you make an offer, insuring that they don’t become a glitch that delays or even halts your sale.
On a personal note, just imagine how you would feel if you found your dream home, only to realize later that it is just out of your reach.
Note: in Arizona it is required that a Pre-Approval form be submitted with a Purchase Contract.
