I was honored to be among the members of VAREP, Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals, who sat down yesterday with Congressman Matt Salmon and two of his Constituent Services Reps, Lee Huff and Janet Bosley. This meeting gave us the opportunity to define some of the difficulties encountered by Veterans in the housing market, and to explain solutions that VAREP is working on.
One of the most common concerns among Veterans, Realtors, and even Mortgage Officers, is the confusion surrounding VA mortgage procedures and regulations. VAREP offers workshops several times a year to educate Realtors and facilitate access to VA financing for Veterans, Military members and their families.
Congressman Salmon expressed interest in cooperating with VAREP and graciously offered his assistance with a fundraiser slated for later this year. VAREP uses funds from these events to rehabilitate properties for occupation by a deserving Veteran, who would otherwise be unable to own a home of their own. These homes are presented to the Veteran mortgage-free.
As President of the Phoenix Chapter of VAREP, I’d like to thank Congressman Salmon for inviting us to meet with him, and for his generous offer of support. This is a cause that is close to my heart on a personal level and fully integrated into every day of my business life.
