Via a beautiful drive along the Apache Trail you arrive at Tortilla Flat, a tiny Arizona town (population 6… no kidding!) with great burgers, some amazing hiking trails nearby, and a quirky atmosphere, (be sure and check out the restrooms at the Country Store). A fun and relaxing afternoon getaway is just a short drive from Phoenix and the East Valley. A few excerpts from the Tortilla Flat website are below. ~Bill
Tortilla Flat is an authentic remnant of an old west town, nestled in the midst of the Tonto National Forest, in the Superstition Mountain Range. Tortilla Flat started out as
a stagecoach stop in 1904 and neither fire nor flood has been able to take away this historic stop along the Historic Apache Trail.
Superstition Saloon and Restaurant… enjoy a cold brew or sarsaparilla.

… Oh and by the way… You may have noticed in many places it says “Population 6″… it is not a joke. We really do live here, and thank you for visiting our town.
