  • Mintz performed impressive planking as well at a charity event for military families
  • North Carolinian Mintz is hoping to go to Texas to try out for the Junior Olympic gymnastics team

Showing what her viral YouTube videos describe as “beast mode,” 10-year-old Kaylyn Mintz of Wilmington, North Carolina, showed junior ROTC cadets who’s boss in a push-up contest, and a planking contest as well.

Mintz and the high school ROTC cadets were taking part in a charity event for Active Heroes, a group that helps active military and their families.

The 10-year-old trains 17-20 hours a week as she aims to make the U.S. Junior Olympic gymnastics team.

HLN Now’s Mike Galanos spoke to this budding gymnast and her mother.
